SLAM!

Slam! by Walter Dean Myers  shows ambition by trying to make hid dream possible which is becoming a pro basketball player. I choose this book because I like books that show a desire to achieve there dreams.

Ambition

"Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings" -Salvador Dali. This means that if you don't have a strong desire to gain intelligence then you'll be uncapable to learn which refers back to a bird that doesn't have wings can't fly. Agree with this because if you dont have a strong desire to learn then your uncapable to learn.This can be seen in Slam! By Walter Dean Myers. Slam is the only person that change his future. Just by listening to his coach to create a better future for himself and achieve in his academics. Knowing that his long loved dream is on the tip of his fingers if he makes the right chooses.

HERO

 

"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to perserve and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles". Christopher Reeve. A hero can be anyone who thinks of other before themselves and is willing to show it when people aren't looking. Who doesnt complain to help to elders cross a street or just opening a door for them. Hero don't try to help people to gain anything but to know that they did a good deed or just because knowing in your heart it was the right thing to do. Hero could be a simple friend that helps there friends when they aren't having a good day and just cheers them up. Which could make a big diffrence to that friend thats not having a great moment. Hero are people who are willing to take that extra step in life. To help impact people in a great way but not for personal gain. Just because it the right thing to do. But the question here is do you think your a hero?

I am basketball
I wonder if I will get the girl I have a crush on
I hear people saying my best friend is selling drugs
I see my mom trying to keep the family together
I want to become a pro basketball player
I am special
I pretend to see myself playing basketball on the court
I feel a strong feeling of love
I touch the basketball like if it was a part of me
I worry that I won't achieve my goal
I cry when I see my mom said
I am unique
I understand that I have to academics class to achieve my goal
I say I can do it and no one can stop me
I dream of playing for a big basketball team
I try to be the best person I can be in basketball and academics
I hope to help my family when I turn pro
I am Slam!
